On December 17, Cartier Resources released new drill results from its East Cadillac gold project that significantly expand the known high-grade gold zone. In a recent News Release Backgrounder, CEO Philippe Cloutier spoke with Peter Norman of the Online Investment Conference to break down the latest findings—and the scale of what’s coming next.

Highlights from the News Release

The December 17 update confirms that high-grade gold mineralization now extends over a 10-kilometer strike length along the Larder Lake–Cadillac fault zone. This includes:

  • 44.7 g/t Au over 0.5 meters
  • 7.5 g/t Au over 4.6 meters
  • 17 g/t Au over 0.5 meters
  • 18 g/t Au over 1.7 meters

These intercepts are situated across multiple sectors, including the Bloom Lake sector, West Portal, and the Simon West sector, adding continuity to previously reported intersections such as 7.2 g/t over 8 meters and 35.3 g/t over 4.4 meters.

A Year of Growth, and a Bigger Year Ahead

Cartier’s 2024 exploration program included:

  • 162 drill holes
  • 28,000 meters of drilling
  • 10 identified high-grade gold zones

According to Cloutier, assay results are still pending and could kick off 2025 with further high-grade discoveries. The company is now planning a 100,000-meter follow-up drill program aimed at expanding mineralization both east and west along this prolific structure.

Visualizing the Expansion

“These latest results fill in and extend the entire width of the Larder Lake–Cadillac Fault Zone across more than 2 kilometers,” said Cloutier, noting that the mineralized footprint could stretch well beyond the current 10 km to the east and west.

“We now have 10 high-grade areas along a 10-kilometer strike, and we’re not done yet.”

Looking Ahead to 2025

To summarize, Cloutier offered three key takeaways:

  1. The high-grade mineralization now spans 10 km—and growing.
  2. The entire width of the fault zone is now mineralized in key areas.
  3. Major follow-up drilling is coming, with 100,000 meters planned for 2025.
